Pastoral Transition Update

At the Eastern Canada 56th National Convention | Conference in August 2019 plans were introduced for the tenure of Bishop S. A. Morrison’s pastorate at the West End Worship Centre to end, and to transition in a new Senior Pastor effective August 2020. Since then, much dialogue, prayer and planning have taken place.

In a letter dated May 27, 2020, the National Administrative Bishop, Woodroe Thompson, provided an update to the local church regarding the transition. See an excerpt from the letter below:

“After much prayer and careful consideration, I would like to inform you and the congregation that we will not be able to follow through with that decision at this time… I would like that you continue to provide pastoral leadership to the West End Worship Centre until the end of the year 2020, after which we will revisit the decision that was made in our National Convention/Conference in August 2019.

In summary, Bishop S.A. Morrison will continue to serve in his role as the Senior Pastor of West End Worship Centre until the end of the year.
