Youth Ministry Shoe Drive Surpasses Goal, Collecting 646 Pairs for Soles4Souls

As part of this year's Global Serve Day initiative, the West End Youth Ministry challenged our church family to help make a difference through a Shoe Drive in partnership with Soles4Souls. What began as an ambitious goal of collecting 500 pairs of shoes quickly became an incredible demonstration of generosity and community support.

Thanks to the overwhelming response from our congregation, we are excited to share that a total of 646 pairs of shoes were collected, exceeding our original goal by 146 pairs.

The Shoe Drive was highlighted during Youth Sunday in May, where students took the lead in promoting the initiative and encouraging participation. Members of the congregation responded by donating a wide variety of footwear, including athletic shoes, dress shoes, sandals, boots, children's shoes, and more.

The project culminated with youth and youth leaders working together to sort, pair, box, and bag the donations. It was inspiring to see students not only talk about serving others but actively participate in a hands-on opportunity to make a tangible impact.

Through our partnership with Soles4Souls, these shoes will be distributed to individuals and families in need around the world. What may have been sitting unused in a closet will now become a practical resource that can help provide dignity, opportunity, and support for someone else.

Global Serve Day encourages churches around the world to move beyond the walls of the sanctuary and demonstrate God's love through acts of service in their communities and beyond. This Shoe Drive was one way our church family joined that mission, using a simple act of generosity to make a meaningful difference.

We are incredibly proud of our youth for leading this initiative and grateful to every individual and family who donated. The success of this project was truly a church-wide effort.
